Committed to the Cause

This may come off as a “humble brag” but it’s not meant to be taken that way.

I am writing this from my hotel balcony in Mexico. I am committed to this endeavor and even while on a family vacation, this is on my mind.

I’m not a crazy adventurer, backpacking the world, but I LOVE to see how other cultures do things. It’s humbling to see completely different ways of living, and it really puts things into perspective. You really get the full feel for what the term logam means.

If you have the means to travel, do it. You are doing yourself a disservice by staying in your bubble.

Behind the Photos

Victorian SF

I have spent most of my life living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have a fondness for the aesthetic of the city. Victorian style buildings are totally my jam. We were driving home from an afternoon at the Academy Of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. This building is on a street corner on the drive home. I tried to backtrack on google maps to see if I could find the exact street corner. I couldn’t and so this got the name Victorian SF and not the street name.

San Leandro Sails

I’m always on the lookout for a good reflection when I’m out on the wild. I was not disappointed on this morning. We got up early for a race my husband and daughter were running and I was handily rewarded with perfectly still waters and clear blue sky. Having an iPhone makes it even better. There was a time not too long ago that I had to carry my canon with me everywhere. That got hard once I had a kid, her head and my camera occupy the same plane on my body so I had to make some adjustments. Namely I had to shift what the essentials of travel were and my canon doesn’t make the cut as often these days. (Don’t worry, it’s still my preferred device and this is the year I get a proper zoom lens. 🤞)

Overwintering – Santa Cruz

This was the first trip I took after I decided that I was going to start taking my photography seriously. My husband challenged me to be more proactive about finding subject matter. I took my mom and daughter out to Santa Cruz to see the monarchs overwintering in a small ravine yards from the Natural Bridges State Beach. This was very underwhelming and was when I realized I officially need a better zoom lens. Don’t get me wrong, it was still a cool phenomenon to whiteness and we had a great time overall.
