When was the first time I really felt like a grown up (if ever)?
I’m not exactly sure when it happened but at some point, in my mid 30’s things kind of fell into place and I stopped living paycheck to paycheck. It was probably the purchase of my first new car. Before my Kia Soul my mom had provided all of the finical backing for anything I drove.

I realized I was on my way to becoming an adult when I cried happy tears the day, I got a washer and dryer in my apartment, that was a solid 5 years before I was in a position to purchase my car. I was nowhere near adulting at that point in my life, but the presence of happy tears over appliances signaled that my life priorities were definitely changing.

I got married and we purchased a house, and those things were defiantly major adulting milestones, but this year we took our 2 daughters and 2 nieces on an all expenses paid weeklong trip to Mexico and that made me feel like I was officially adulting well. To be completely honest I never pictured myself being able to provide something like that for so many people. It was epic and felt like winning at adulting.
Thanks for stopping by.
